Abstract

The Bible stands at the center of Christian faith education. Faith is first received and shaped in the family. Yet many young people today grow up without a deeply rooted faith. It does not move them to wrestle with Scripture or to grow through truth within the life of the family. This raises a basic question: what is the role of Christian faith education in the family? John Wesley, the pioneer of the Methodist Church, offers a clear example. He was formed in a disciplined home where Christian education, especially biblical knowledge was taken seriously. His story shows what intentional faith formation can produce. This article seeks to encourage Christian families to reclaim their central role in shaping faith from early age. The study finds that Christian faith education grounded in biblical discipline is not optional; it is essential. The church must equip families, especially parents, not only to read the Bible, but to understand it and explain core doctrines wisely to their children: God, the Fall, redemption, the means of grace, heaven, and hell. At the same time, parents are called to be creative, reforming patterns and methods of faith education in the family according to the child’s stage of development.
